Welcome to Troop 99!   Troop 99 is a youth led non-denominational Boy Scout Troop in the Heritage District, Colonial Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are sponsored by St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Boy Scouting is open to all boys who have completed the fifth grade, achieved the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts, or at least 11 years of age but no older than 18 years of age. Scouts who are 18 or older may become adult leaders in the troop upon approval of the troop committee. Contact the Scout Master George Burdine, to join.  The troop meets at St Mark's UMC every Tuesday, 7:00-830pm.

What is Boy Scouts? The Boy Scouts is a community program with the purpose of providing boys and young adults an effective educational program designed to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, to develop personal fitness, and to teach how to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. 

Summer Camp 2012

This your friendly Assistant Scoutmaster, John Sly. I am just sending some information on Summer Camp 2012. The PLC meeting, the scouts, has decided to return to Bayport Scout Reservations for 2012. They also, planned to go during the first week of July, which is July 1-7, 2012.

All scouts are required to fill out permission slips prior to leaving St Marks Methodist Church. Slips are available on Troop Web site.

Well - WE NEED YOUR Help with all our Troop paperwork - like getting ready for Popcorn season, Troop flyers, etc. Just ask a troop scoutmaster or committee member and we can have something for you to do as quickly as you can say I can help!
